In 2009, Aluminium Industries (Ai) launched its aiFAB business unit. We started with just one CNC machine, but grew steadily through the years and now offer a suite of value-adding services.
Founded in 1996, Aluminium Industries is driven by a “what’s next” vision and long-term strategic planning. The organisation has grown through the years to include five brands, on site IP and exquisite customer service.
Today, Ai employs about 150 people through our product brands and service departments. Each Ai brand leads their particular market with innovative products and practical support.
We are proudly Australian yet operate with a global perspective.
Initially, Ai provided sourcing services for small to medium end users of extruded products.
In 2005, Ai introduced supply to the architectural window and door systems market.
In 2007, Ai acquired Pivotech, a shower door and wardrobe wholesale company with a national network of distributors. Since becoming part of Ai, the product range has broadened and the features continually improved, resulting in significant growth in the fabricator network and their respective sales.
In 2009, aiFAB began offering manufacturing services to Ai’s customers. The addition of one CNC machine to our warehouse was soon followed by more.
In 2010, Ai began to research and develop new window suites to meet emerging thermal performance needs. Today, EDGE Architectural Glazing Systems offers architectural window and door systems specifically for Australian conditions. The features satisfy the needs of those involved in specification, fabrication, installation and on-going care and maintenance.
In 2014, Ai acquired Comtruk ute trays and truck bodies, and Tasman Bull Bars.
In 2020, GLYDE Architectural Acoustic Systems became the fifth brand of Ai. GLYDE Acoustic Sliders have been designed to meet the needs of future learning while overcoming the limitations of other slider systems in the market. They meet stringent DDA requirements and have industry leading acoustic performance credentials.
